The fine print
Policies & Procedures
Everything you agree to at registration, in plain language. Please read through before your first lesson — you're responsible for knowing this information.
Registration
- A one-time $40 registration fee applies for your first child; $25 for each additional child in your household.
- Registration, policies, waiver, and your first invoice/payment must be completed before lessons are scheduled.
- By enrolling, you commit to at least one month in the program.
Payment
- The one-time registration fee(s) plus the first two weeks of lessons are due at registration.
- Each payment is due before lessons. Non-payment results in cancelled lessons.
- Choose your invoicing: weekly, every two weeks, monthly, or pay all lessons up front.
- Payments are due within 5 days of the invoice. Late payments add a $15 late fee.
- We accept cash, check, bank transfer, or credit card (fees apply). Cash/checks go in a sealed, labeled envelope handed to the instructor.
Refunds
- The registration fee(s) and first two weeks of lesson fees are non-refundable.
- See the Absences, Make-Up, and Late policies for further details.
Weather
- We may close for severe weather, monitored with the Storm Shield app.
- If we cancel your lesson for any reason, we'll notify you by email and/or text and issue a free make-up to use within 30 days.
Absences & Make-Ups
- Each student gets 2 free make-up lessons annually, issued at enrollment and usable only for a documented absence.
- No make-up and no refund for no call / no shows.
- Additional make-ups are available for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance, with a $10 rescheduling fee added to the original lesson cost.
- All make-ups are subject to availability and expire 30 days from the missed lesson date.
- A missed make-up lesson is not re-issued.
Late Arrivals
- If you arrive late, the lesson is the remaining minutes of your child's scheduled in-water time.
- No refund or payment adjustments for compromised lesson times.
- Consistent participation matters — excessive absences may result in the loss of your time slot.
Schedule Changes
- We may consolidate schedules to reduce gaps; you may be asked to arrive a little earlier or later than your original slot.
- A class may be eliminated if no suitable option exists.
- If you're the only one to show for a group class, you'll receive an equivalent 15-minute private lesson instead of the 30-minute group.
Cancellation
- To cancel a lesson, call/text (918) 430-5843 or email kitssurvivalswim@gmail.com at least 24 hours in advance.
- To discontinue lessons, a 30-day written notice by email is required.
- To increase or reduce lesson frequency, you may do so immediately with instructor approval.
Facility & Safety
- Photos/videos may be taken with permission — please respect other families' privacy.
- No diving, running, or rough play. Swimsuits required. Suits worn in a lake or pond must be washed before pool use.
- No open wounds or symptoms of communicable illness in the pool.
- You must watch and be responsible for your children while on the property. There is a playset and trampoline — mind your lesson time.
Diaper Policy
- Any child not 100% potty trained must wear either a Happy Nappy reusable swim diaper (~$18) OR two layered disposable swim diapers.
Eating
- Please avoid a heavy meal or milk products within 2 hours before a lesson — swallowed water can cause spit-up. This risk drops as kids learn breath control.
Pool Closure Fee
- Accidents happen. The first pool accident is a friendly reminder of our guidelines.
- Repeat accidents incur a $75 fee to cover make-up lessons for other families rescheduled due to the closure.
⚠️ Liability Waiver
Swimming is a hazardous activity. At registration, each parent/ guardian signs a Release of Liability acknowledging the inherent risks of swimming and agreeing to hold harmless Katrina McEnany, Kit’s Survival Swim, and the pool facility owner. You’ll review and sign the full waiver as part of the registration form — please read it carefully.
